Time certianly does fly when you are having fun!!
It has been a trying year so far for so many people with the pandemic and the big weather swing plus the disasters of early in the year.
We have a few new ponies and a few have left us to go to new homes!

Glen Lewis Serennu joined us and has become a firm favourite at the Centre. She is 13hh and a bundle of personality! We are aiming her at a few shows for the New Year!
|
Glen Lewis Gold Snippet is turning into a gorgeous girl and beginning to fulfil the expectations I had of her. She is rising two year old now and is a carbon copy of her much loved Dam.
|
Thiacan Nimbus (aka Jack) is turned out with Lucy Schofield's lovely Welsh C colt. The Boys are growing up together and are extremely eye catching together. Who doesn't love pure Black and Pure Cream - what a contrast!!

December 2019
What a super weekend we had at the Lucy Williams Clinic held at Jarado Park in Renmark. Julie Robinson does such a marvelous job of organising and running these Clinics.
I was very proud to see several of the horses I have bred taking part with their lovely owners. I get a huge 'kick' out of seeing these special horses working and in wonderful condition. They are all so loved. It is very very rewarding!
KM Deana was my mount for the Clinic and what a little trooper she is. I enjoy riding her and she is so talented! Cannot wait to get her out to a competition soon.

Time to dust off those boots
Coaching is ramping up again at the Equestrian Centre with the fine weather - we have a couple of ponies available for lessons and a higher level school horse. There are only 3 places per weekend for students on the School Mounts - so book in for multiple sessions to ensure your place. We also take riders with their own horses for tuition and coaching! We want to help you become the best horse person you possibly can! We love our horses and hope we can help you find the joy we do in their company! HOLIDAY CARE We provide holiday care for your Equine friend - have a chat with Vicki about leaving your four legged mate with us over Christmas. We have paddock turn out & private yards available plus you can ask us to keep your horse in work while you have a break!! |

Back in the saddle
Euro has been out with a niggly suspensory issue for several months, but thanks to our wonderful Vet (Adelaide Plains Equine Clinic) she is back in work and regaining her fitness! I have so missed riding this gourgeous Don schufru daughter - hopefully we will be back out competing in a few months.
Daisy (KM Deana my imported GRP) finally is under saddle and working like a seasoned performer - looking forward to getting her out next season to a few shows and Comps!! Her Daughter is for sale on our sales page!
Sarge (Daquara Zargent Major) just goes from good to better every ride - he is going to be an awesome horse!! He is a character and loves people as much as people love him!! His solid dependable mind is amazing as is his work ethic and ability to learn!

Hay Hay Hay!!
November is stock up on hay time for us - the yearly quota is nearly all in the sheds and rows.
So satisfying knowing you have it sorted!! Our wonderful hay suppliers have delivered and helped stack the big stuff!
We also had a fun, but itchy day picking up and stacking meadow hay at Birdwood! Lots of laughs and a hang over or two worked through!

October 2019Lucy Williams Clinic at Jarado Park
We had an absolute ball learning from Lucy - the Ride with your Mind Coach gave me a lot to think about!! Biomechanics and pole work - a big weekend, but so 'worth' it!! Sarge loved the work and showed everyone he is just a tad 'special'. Love this big hearted Welsh D gelding! Jarado Park is owned by Julie and Ashley and is a wonderful venue for Clinics - We are looking forward to the next one!! |
2019 a year of change
2019 has seen a number of changes at the Equestrian Centre. Several of our wonderful school horses have moved on to new homes and some new faces have joined us.
Honey has moved to the South East with 2 beautiful girls and a horsey Mum!! Zippy has moved across the River with a family of Horsey girls and is loving life being spoilt rotten and going on lots of fun outings!! Dear DJ, our foundation School Pony sadly was laid to rest early in 2019 after a long illness - DJ has taught so many people to ride and helped former riders regain their courage. He is sadly missed and will never be forgotten. DJ was the first pony I bought when I opened the Riding Centre, he was perfect for the role he played and was a one in a million pony and to be honest is irreplaceable. Finding a pony to come close to filling his shoes will be a challenge. RIP DJ (Suegarrie Statesman) |

Euro and Vicki along with trusty strapper Nikki took a weekend off and competed in Victoria at the Wimmera Dressage Day 22 July 2018.
Euro performed well, coming home with 2 x 2nds at Medium and a 1st place at Advanced. Neither Vicki nor Euro had ridden Medium or Advanced together previously and had not done a competition together in 5 years. The weekend was amazing, the Wimmera ladies were lovely and a great time was had by all!! The girls were joined by Merryn and Claire Zeppel and their beautiful Thiacan Der Von Waltz who also had a great Competition brining home a couple of 1st placings at Preparatory and a 4th in his first Preliminary start. A return trip is planned for October to compete at the Championships! really looking forward to doing more comps this coming season and enjoying ourselves a bit socially with Dressage friends!! |

Lessons and Coaching back to normal after a long break. Good friend and fellow Coach Anna Jackson visited recently and helped work a few horses and give some lessons. School ponies DJ and Honey are loving being back in work and it is all systems go for Vicki and Nikki preparing for upcoming comps.

The Broodmare band is expanding with beautiful Halo a mare sired by Hatero de PB out of a lovely Donnerblitz mare joining us. Halo is about 15hh so will be ideal for the breeding program. How exciting it is to add this lovely lady to our select broody team!
16 December 2016
This week we say good bye to Poppy (Danson Primadonna) who has been a tremendous equine partner to Vicki for the past 2 years. Poppy is one of the sweetest and genuine horses we have every worked with. Her delightful liquid eye and gentle nature has been marvellous to work with. Unfortunately Poppy's 16.2hh body and Vicki's tiny 5 foot body are just not a good match long term! We wish Poppy's new owner all the best and hope you love her as much as we did!

Welcome to the world 'Thiacan Verismo'
Voices W (Voice/Sunny Boy) x Thiacan Wanda (Dimaggio/Don Schufro)
What a wonderful surprise to wake up to!! ...
A message from Heather telling me my beautiful Wanda had foaled!
Verismo (Archie) is a gorgeous tall, healthy, well boned, blingy Colt.
I can't wait to see him move, I think with those bloodlines he is going to be just a weeny bit 'special'!!!!

It's well and truly breeding season with Dream growing at a rate of knots and keeping everyone busy looking after her!
The gorgeous Pen'nant Royal Heirloom (Jess) has gone off to be put in foal hopefully to a handsome GRP. Thiacan Der Von Nova has been welcomed back to her birthplace and will become part of the broody band for this season. Nova is staying with us for a while, kindly loaned to me by her owner Sonya Liddle. Nova is our dear Lotties last foal, so she is very special and we are hoping she produces a spectacular baby for Thiacan Dressage.
Thiacan Der Von Wanda is due soon to the handsome Voices W and we await that foal eagerly. With the pedigree it will have it should be a stunner!!

New Kids on the Block!!
Great excitement at Riverland Equestrian Centre as we prepare for both Laura Golding’s horse to arrive along with a new mare for Thiacan Dressage.
Laura has been looking on and off for the past 2 years for a horse and has really done the hard yards this last few months. She has tried a few, researched several and at last has found a beautiful Paint mare in Victoria.
We are so happy to welcome 'Kari' (Kintails Art House) to the Centre and can’t wait to see Laura and Kari enjoying time together. Kari is a 14.2hh 11yo Paint mare. Kari has been well educated and has some solid competition experience in Victoria. It appears she can jump too!! She also has a super dooper bloodline.
The other new face is 'Jess', (Pennant Royal Heirloom) a lovely 14hh 4yo Welsh D mare with a great pedigree who after being started under saddle will join the brood mare band this coming season!!

It was a wonderful learning weekend at the Centre with the Esther Cruckshank Clinic!
Esther is AMAZING! and we are so lucky to have her and her Mentor Wayne Banney as our visiting Specialists to help us along.
Esther visits regularly (monthly - 6 weekly) and keeps us on track, Wayne spends time with is each year in both April and October and helps push us to the next level...
Horsemanship is not just going in circles, twirling ropes and flapping bags, it is about: • Attitude • Confidence • Trust • Respect •
Feel • Timing • Balance • Co-Ordination • Flexion • Straightness
• Impulsion • Challenge - for us and the horse!!
As Esther recently replied on our FB page… “This is all so true, 12 elements of horsemanship, as taught and lived by Wayne Banney. A horseman knows what he sees in his horse is a reflection of himself. So the change we desire in our horse needs to start with changing ourselves, improving ourselves for the benefit of our horses.”
The 12 Elements are a great guide and when we use them in our lives and training the results speak for themselves!!
It all starts with OUR ‘Attitude’!!!

I have had a great two weeks at home. Achieved a huge amount with the help of my lovely friends. I have slashed and harrowed, trimmed and lopped, fenced and electrified (thanks Dad!!), relocated horses, met new people, ridden and Coached and had precious time with everyone! I love visiting my home and seeing everyone! My property looks sensational and it is being cared for beautifully!

It's been a big week for us! Roy (Don Royale) has gone to Esther Cruckshank for some work in preparation for his ridden career, Vicki picked up a load of beautiful meadow hay from Birdwood (lucky Roy to have this while he is at Esther's) Plus Vicki & Nikki collected a happily in foal Jorja from Lucy's. Our special girl Don Euro has been relocated to Renee Everest's at Wistow for 12 months to join Renee in her Dressage journey. Also home and in foal is Der Von Wanda who is in foal to a 'Voice' son.

Great Excitement today. Nikki and Vicki collected Honey and Chiquita from Oatesdale Park. Chica is now 2 moths old and just sooo cute. She is a great addition to our horsey family! Nikki has the day to day care of Honey and Chica. Like all of Honey's babies, Chica is loved by all!!

Today we said goodbye to Lottie our sweet old broodmare. Lottie had only been with us for 4 years but she had won many hearts. It is a hard decision to have to make, but I always feel that if you love a horse enough to care for it and ensure it is well, then when the time comes, you must make the tough call of putting the horse to sleep. We hold the well being of the horse in our hands and when the quality of life can no longer be assured, the kindest thing we can offer is peace and relief for them.
Lottie produced some amazing progeny. From memory they are Dark Prince, Imperial Tigru, A gelding by Freestyle who's name I can't recall, DonnerQuest, Rubilite, Domino, and Der Von Nova. Imperial Tigru was a DWTS top Ten place getter (3 years in a row). Each of the foals Lottie produced were gorgeous and all have developed into amazing horses!
Lottie was a well loved member of our Broodmare band and although she didn't produce foals for Thiacan Dressage she fulfilled a much needed role as lead mare of the band. She taught all our youngsters the necessary discipline for interaction in a group of horses!
Lottie's last weeks were full of love and she enjoyed hours each day in the irrigated paddocks and being pampered by everyone. She will be missed and fondly remembered as a mare that was fuss free, easy to deal with and a real trooper !!
Thank you to everyone at the Equestrian Centre who helped care for Lottie and loved her so much. She is free galloping across the paddocks with her foal just as she should be!

Hot sunny days and sleepless nights as the Riverland heats up for summer. Everyone is keeping fingers crossed waiting for preg tests on two more mares!
